What we do with a conversation
What's stored
Your conversation is saved and cataloged
If you talk with a Representative at the Table, the text of that conversation — your messages and the Representative's — is saved. This is a pilot: we're still learning what's working and what isn't, and the transcript is how we find out. We don't collect your name, email, or any other identifying information as part of a conversation unless you choose to give it to us directly (for example, by emailing us).
Who reads it
The project team, only
Conversations are reviewed by the Church in Conversation project team for the purpose of improving the project — checking accuracy, catching problems, and understanding what a real conversation with a Representative is actually like. We do not sell conversation data, and we do not publish or quote from a specific conversation publicly without asking you first.
Retention
Kept for as long as this pilot needs it
Because this is an early-stage pilot, we don't yet have a fixed retention schedule the way a mature product would. Transcripts are kept for as long as they're useful to the pilot's review process, and this page will be updated with a concrete retention period once that's settled. If you'd like your conversation deleted sooner, see below — we'll act on that request directly.
Deletion
Ask us, and we'll remove it
Email info@churchinconversation.com and ask us to delete a conversation — tell us roughly when it happened and which tradition you talked with, since we don't collect anything else that would let us find it for you. Deletion is handled by hand by the project team at this stage — there's no self-serve button — so please allow a few days. We'll confirm once it's done.
Questions
Ask us anything
This page describes a pilot-stage project built and operated by a small team, not a large company with a dedicated privacy office. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know more about how a specific conversation was handled, just ask: info@churchinconversation.com.
